Thank you so much to my colleague Jennifer Sturge who connected me to this great experience.
The first week is not even over and in addition to connecting with incredible educators via our edmodo ECT cohort, I have begun creating an online professional development course, "Twitter as PLN", for my district (as my case study assignment). I have also been talking to several teachers at my school to encourage them to try edmodo with one class this last semester of the school year so they will feel comfortable using it with all their classes next school year right from the start. This is how the idea for "Edmodo Teacher Day in the NHS Library" was born (See Smore flyer embedded below).
My plan is to have an Edmodo Day in our small lab (9 computers) and have teachers come to the library during their planning time for snacks and informal edmodo training that meets them at their level. I want to share the idea with the entire Northern High School (NHS) faculty to try one class now so they can begin next year with all their classes. I also hope to chronicle the entire experience here to share and encourage others.
Wish me luck!
**Flyer Disclaimer: The flyer states I am an Edmodo Certified Trainer. That won't actually be true for a few weeks. However, I am determined that it will be true.
